byrd 3PL Integration
Connect byrd's European fulfillment network to route customer shipments, send supplier ASNs, sync products by SKU, and import full inventory snapshots.
Overview
byrd is a European e-commerce fulfillment network with warehouses across the EU and UK. Fulfil's native integration sends customer shipments to byrd, imports tracking numbers and packages as byrd fulfills each order, sends supplier shipments to byrd as inbound deliveries, and imports full inventory snapshots from byrd's warehouse. Fulfil connects to byrd over its API using an account username and password, and maps a single Fulfil warehouse to the byrd warehouse and account that fulfills from it.
Type: Direct 3PL Integration
Capabilities
- Outbound customer and internal shipments, with tracking numbers and package details returned
- Rate shopping: leave the carrier blank and byrd selects the carrier and service
- Customs data on international orders (HS code, country of origin, DAP/DDP incoterms)
- Lot numbers sent outbound for lot-controlled products, and returned on shipping advices
- Whole-shipment cancellation synced back to byrd
- Supplier shipment ASNs, with full and partial receipts and damaged quantities
- Product sync by SKU via the Send to 3PL action
- Full inventory snapshots imported as a stock count, including lot numbers and expiry dates
Supported Actions
From Fulfil to byrd:
- Send assigned customer shipments as shipments
- Send draft supplier shipments as inbound deliveries (ASNs)
- Send products (SKU, name, weight, dimensions, HS code, country of origin, lot/serial flags)
- Send shipment cancellations
From byrd to Fulfil:
- Receive tracking numbers and package details on fulfilled shipments
- Receive the lot number byrd shipped for lot-controlled products
- Confirm inbound receipts, including partial receipts and damaged quantities
- Import full inventory snapshots by SKU, with lot numbers and expiry dates
Best For
- European fulfillment: Brands shipping across the EU and UK from byrd's warehouse network
- Lot-controlled products: Supplements, food, beauty, and other SKUs that need lot and expiry tracking end to end
- Cross-border DTC and wholesale: Orders that need HS codes, country of origin, and DAP/DDP incoterms sent with the shipment
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Create a byrd Warehouse in Fulfil
- Navigate to Inventory & Stock > Locations
- Create a warehouse with Warehouse Type set to 3PL and 3PL Source set to byrd
Step 2: Connect to byrd
You'll need the following from byrd:
- Username and Password for your byrd account
- byrd Warehouse ID: the warehouse identifier byrd assigned to your account
-
byrd Account ID: used to attribute inventory snapshot exports to the right warehouse
-
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and click Setup New Integration
- Select byrd, name the integration, and click Next
- Enter your byrd Username and Password, then click Connect
- Select the Fulfil Warehouse you created, enter the byrd Warehouse ID and byrd Account ID, and click Save
Step 3: Enable Schedulers
On the warehouse location page, add schedules for each action you want to automate:
- Send customer shipments: sends assigned shipments to byrd (cancellations for already-sent shipments go out on the next run)
- Get customer shipment advices: imports tracking numbers and packages, marking shipments Done
- Send supplier shipments: exports draft supplier shipments to byrd as deliveries (ASNs)
- Get inventory receipts: marks supplier shipments received once byrd confirms
Select an interval for each schedule and save.
Step 4: Sync Products
byrd matches products by SKU, so sync products before sending shipments that contain them:
- Navigate to Products > Variants
- Select the products and use the Send to 3PL action
- Select your byrd integration and click Send
How It Works
Outbound Shipments
Orders imported from your channels create customer shipments. The scheduler sends assigned shipments to byrd with a preferred carrier and service if one is set; if none is set, byrd rate shops and picks the carrier itself. byrd picks, packs, and ships, splitting into multiple packages when needed, and Fulfil imports the tracking numbers, package details, and the lot number shipped for lot-controlled products. Cancelling a shipment in Fulfil sends a cancellation to byrd on the next run. byrd cancels the entire shipment, and rejects the request if it has already started releasing for picking.
Inbound Shipments
Supplier shipments send to byrd as deliveries (ASNs), including the inbound carrier and tracking number when available. A planned delivery date is required, and byrd uses it to open a receiving window. As goods arrive, byrd counts good and damaged units separately; Fulfil marks the shipment Done on a full receipt, and starts a new supplier shipment for the shortfall on a partial receipt.
Inventory Snapshots
byrd reports inventory as a full warehouse export rather than incremental adjustments. Importing a snapshot builds a stock count in Fulfil, one line per SKU, with lot numbers and expiry dates for lot-tracked products. A blank count for a SKU is left out of the import rather than treated as zero, and an export with no rows for your warehouse fails on purpose rather than zeroing out inventory.
Carrier Mapping
byrd returns carrier information on shipping advices and Fulfil maps byrd's carrier codes to Fulfil carrier identifiers (for example dhl_de → dhl_germany, royalmail_gb → royal_mail). To set a preferred carrier, create a Carrier in Fulfil with Carrier Cost Method set to 3PL and add carrier services whose code matches one of byrd's identifiers.
