Fulfil connects to Braintree's API and imports settlement transactions, meaning the customer payments and refunds that settle through Braintree from your sales channels. Fulfil needs only Read access to the API, and each record carries the transaction ID, settlement date, amount, reference, and type for matching.

Yes. After setting Braintree up as a payment gateway (Provider Braintree, Method Credit Card - Braintree) with your Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key, you can charge and refund credit cards directly in Fulfil for wholesale orders. You add the Fulfil users allowed to use the gateway.

Fulfil matches each settlement transaction against the payment gateway transaction from your sales channel, such as Shopify, by amount, reference number, and GL account, linking them without a journal entry. When Braintree pays out to your bank, you reconcile that transfer with a bank rule set to Transfer.

Braintree fees are not available through the API, so they cannot be imported automatically. You download the Transaction-Level Fee Report from your Braintree Control Panel and book the fees in Fulfil with a journal entry against your fees expense account. Many merchants book them from the report totals rather than per transaction.

The Braintree payment gateway in Fulfil charges and refunds credit cards, but it does not support charging or refunding PayPal. If you accept PayPal, set up the separate PayPal integration to import those transactions as bank statements.

You choose the charge timing. Cards can be charged at order confirmation or when the order ships, so you authorize and capture on your own schedule.
